It wasn’t long ago that we blogged about polished chrome making a comeback in kitchen and bath design. Now, a new trend list released by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) shows that glossy fixtures in the kitchen are exploding.

Each year, the NKBA sponsors a design competition that garners hundreds of custom kitchen and bath designs. Once the entries are in, experts take note of which colors, shapes, patterns, materials and finishes are the most prominent. And once again, glossy fixtures win.

Faucets are probably the easiest and most elegant way to add a glossy touch in the kitchen, but the same can also be done with sinks and/or the right cabinet hardware.
